AHIME GARFIAS
Ahime Garfias is a suburbs graphic designer. Her approach to her design work is first to draw out her designs and then create it or illustrate it in Adobe software. When she gets assigned a project, she can come up with an idea or two right away to help navigate directions of the approach. Her themes usually have a colorful template and text placement where she breaks text down to scatter it around, so it is playful while storytelling. She wanted her knowledge to grow and understand how graphic design works in other areas like publication, packaging, wayfinding, and street signage. She wanted to understand how to set the tone for themes.
MAGICAL GIRL
Magical Girl is a 68-page magazine that combines Sailor Moon, Winx Club, and makeup all into one fun magazine by using typography, colors, grid system, image placement, vectors. Learning editorial and production to create a magazine that offers a variety of content like a free paper doll, makeup tutorial, friendship articles, fashion article, LGBTQ+ article.
ADJ. POSTER: DISSONANCE
Created a series of poster variations from using an adjective word: dissonance. Produce these posters in In Design and combine 2 posters or all 4 posters in Photoshop to combine them to create a single poster with effects. I wanted these posters to be experimental posters, playing with layering and effects.
CODENAME SAILORV PACKAGING
Codename sailorV was a project to produce a unique packaging design for my packaging design class. Using a book design, I planned out and measured the appropriate size to fit a doll inside, creating a sleeve to go along. Included a certificate of authenticity.
