ANGELA KALISH
Angela Kalish is a multidisciplinary graphic designer with a love for chunky text, bold illustrations, and weird animals. Driven by the media she consumed growing up, her illustration background, and her knowledge of printmaking processes, her art combines different textures and styles into design with a playfully nostalgic edge. For her, art has always been a means of self-expression and a way to spark joy, and that continues to shine throughout her body of work.
RATS
RATS is a project that stems from my love for rodents, turning my original illustrations into products with their own custom packaging. The design is simple, using bold typography and a natural, subdued kraft cardstock to allow the products to shine.
YOU JUST HAD TO BE THERE
“You Just Had to be There” is a magazine that briefly explains some of the history and lore of the emo scene, focusing primarily on the 2010s internet emo/pop punk revival and exploring a few different subcategories that have grown from the genre. The design is rough around the edges, bold, and expressive.
MISUNDERSTOOD ANIMALS
The Misunderstood Animals pamphlets take a moment to give some love to the vermin in our lives. The design utilizes scanned letterpress type to create the title and headers.
LADY VERMINA
The Lady Vermina project creates branding for a fictional Chicago-based drag queen. Lady Vermina specializes in grunge, DIY, alternative drag, and the brand reflects that with sharp corners and rough edges.
