Luis Angel Gomez is a graphic designer, illustrator, and classical guitarist whose work explores the simple joys of life: food, music, and games. His designs lie on the intersection of fun and functional, while always communicating an emotional visual narrative. Angel continues to explore new media, learn new technical skills, and increase conceptual depth.
COSMIC
Music and the cosmos are both limitless final frontiers. Cosmic is a personal brand centered around my passion for music and interest in astronomy. I noticed lack of engaging packaging in the effects pedals landscape, which sparked the creation of this packaging system. The visual identity was built to inspire creativity in musicians using their audio effects pedals to explore new soundscapes.
D’ADDARIO
D'Addario is a leader in the stringed instrument industry. They have a unique letter mark logo symbolizing the six strings of a guitar. In this project, I explored other ways to utilize their identity. I created a series of advertisements and an informational pamphlet to be included with their XT line of classical guitar strings.

ZOOLOGICAL PLAYING CARDS
The goal when illustrating and designing these poker sized playing cards was to combine the regal and elegant aesthetics of traditional playing cards with the animal kingdom. I united imagery of the tree of life, DNA, and floral patterns with the iconic suits of poker. Each suit’s face cards were illustrated based on different types of vertebrates.
